This issue we will continue to introduce characteristics of insulation basalt wool
1.3 High air permeability
Due to its porous structure, insulation basalt wool has excellent air permeability, which is unmatched by other building insulation materials. The water vapor permeation resistance of external wall insulation basalt wool board u≈1, while the water vapor permeation resistance of the EPS board is u≈40, and the water vapor permeation resistance of the XPS board is u≈200.
1.4 Good thermal stability
Since the main components of insulation basalt wool are materials, the elastic modulus of insulation basalt wool is low, and its dimensional stability is good, and it will not expand or contract due to thermal expansion and cold contraction. Therefore, inside the insulation basalt wool external thermal insulation system, no additional stress will be generated due to thermal expansion and contraction. In particular, the temperature of external insulation material can reach a maximum of 70~80 °C. If there is a sudden heavy rain, the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the external thermal insulation system will be above 60 °C, which will cause huge deformation stress inside the system. Insulation basalt wool has a huge advantage in this regard. Because the stress in the insulation basalt wool external thermal insulation system is the smallest, followed by the EPS board external thermal insulation system, and the XPS system has the largest internal stress, which can easily lead to deformation and cracking.
Next issue we will continue to introduce application scope and technical principle of
insulation basalt wool. Please stay tuned!
