The main difference between the horizontal fiber insulation basalt wool board and the vertical fiber insulation basalt wool board is because of the difference in the production process.
The horizontal fiber insulation basalt wool board is produced according to the production process of the sedimentation method. The main production process of the sedimentation method is that the high-temperature melt is centrifugally blown to form rock wool fibers, which are accumulated on the conveyor belt of the sedimentation chamber. When reaching a certain thickness, the fibers are sent to compressed by rollers and sent to curing oven. Rock wool’s fiber produced with sedimentation method is horizontal. So its density is not even and the distribution of binders is not even, which affects the compressive performance of the board and the bonding strength between layers.
The vertical fiber insulation basalt wool board is a rock wool thermal insulation board produced according to the pendulum method or the three-dimensional rock wool production process. The pendulum method is based on the sedimentation method. By improving the wool collection method, the thin rock wool layer is first collected by the collecting belt, and the thin layers are layered up by the pendulum to reach a certain number of layers and thickness, and then rock wool layers are compressed by rollers. And the rock wool layers are sent to curing oven to be solidified, and then through cooling, cutting, packaging and other processes to make finished products. This method improves the uniformity of the wool layer and the binder contained therein, and the fibers are partially vertically distributed due to the inclination generated when the cotton layer is laid, so the compressive strength and interlayer bonding strength are improved.
Similarly, the three-dimensional rock wool is produced by changing the distribution direction of the uncured rock wool layers formed by pendulum method by mechanical methods to form a high-strength three-dimensional rock wool product. The fiber distribution of rock wool produced by three-dimensional method is in three-dimensional way, which make the rock wool has high compressive strength and not easy to delaminate and peel.
